Location
Dargo

Dargo oozes high country charm. Perched on the edge of Alpine wilderness and boasting one of Victoria’s most image-worthy pubs, Dargo is a purpose-built spot for stellar skies.

A boating-camping-fishing haven, Dargo is the starting point for goat track 4x4 adventures, where you can swim in the river, sip billy tea by the warmth of a good campfire and fall asleep under the cloak of the darkest-of-dark night skies.

Naturally, this makes for some of the best stargazing around. It’s a fact that a yarn or two has been embellished by a Dargo campfire under the spell of the Milky Way.

Grab your torch and head to the Dargo Museum, located in town. Not sure where it is?  Stop into the pub and ask a local.

Just about anywhere in Dargo where you can get away from artificial light you will find you'll be rewarded on a clear night.

Visit Dargo

The Dargo Pub and Dargo River Inn provide a welcoming country lubrication at the Alpine National Park and the Victorian Alps' meeting point.

This is serious cattle country, the wide river plains that hug the Dargo River provide near perfect conditions for grazing. The annual muster is the stuff of High-Country legends.
